How Your Brain Works
Your brain functions on a small amount of electricity, much like a computer. This electrical current vibrates, pulses, at various speeds.
When you are wide awake, with your eyes focused, your brain vibrates 20 times per second – what scientists call 20 cycles per second. You can see these relationships on Jose Silva’s Scale of Brain Evolution chart above.
When you go to sleep, your brain frequency slows down, all the way to about one-half of one cycle per second in the deepest levels of natural sleep…when you go to sleep naturally, without the use of sleeping pills.
When you are in a light level of sleep, you are in the alpha range, which is 7 to 14 cycles per second.
When you daydream, your brain is likely in the alpha range. But when you activate your mind to analyze a problem, your brain frequency probably speeds up to 20 cycles per second. This happens with 9 out of 10 people.
The people who can remain in alpha while analyzing information – the 10 percent who can do that – have access to more information than the people who go to 20 cycles per second to do their thinking.
The 10 cycles alpha frequency gives us a connection to the right brain hemisphere.
The left brain hemisphere is logical, rational. The right brain hemisphere is creative, intuitive, spiritual.
Our research indicates that the right brain hemisphere is connected to the spiritual dimension. It seems to be able to accumulate, or transmit, spiritual energy that can be used for holistic faith healing. So when a healer functions at the 10 cycles alpha frequency, the healer can direct this energy and use it to correct health problems.
It is like being connected to a higher power that somehow is able to help to attract matter to fit the ideal spiritual blueprint, or mold, of the body.
The alpha level can help you keep you healthy, too. Entering the alpha level for 15 minutes once a day will strengthen your immune mechanism, and help to keep you healthy. At the alpha level you can learn to overcome all kinds of problems, such as insomnia, tension and migraine headaches, bad habits, and much more.
During the 15 minutes you remain at alpha, you can practicing your deepening exercises that you learn in the Silva Centering Exercise, you can practice relaxing physically and mentally, and you can imagine yourself solving problems and improving living conditions on the planet for yourself and others.
